The UK Prime Minister to Urge Supporting Countries on Advanced Missile Systems for Ukrainian Forces at London Summit

Britain's leader is expected to urge partner nations to provide Ukrainian forces with additional long-range missiles to strike enemy locations during talks in Britain on this Friday.

Sir Keir will host Ukrainian President the Ukrainian head of state alongside what's known as "coalition of the willing", comprising over twenty of Ukraine's allies who have committed to provide Kyiv protection commitments once hostilities pause is brokered.

The Ukrainian leader has been appealing for several weeks for additional extended-range systems from allied countries, an action that Moscow has warned would escalate the hostilities.

The Ukrainian president is travelling from the EU capital, where he met European representatives on Thursday requesting financial support.

"The sole individual involved in current hostilities who refuses to halt the fighting is Vladimir Putin," Starmer stated.

The Prime Minister will also announce that one hundred extra anti-aircraft missiles will be delivered to Ukraine sooner than scheduled, as outlined in a £1.6bn deal reached between the United Kingdom and Kyiv in March.

Diplomatic Momentum

Zelensky comes off the back of important international achievements this week: the US President's move to enact new measures against Russia, and the European Union consenting to fund Kyiv's budgetary shortfall.

Sir Keir is hoping to continue the progress by escalating the leverage on Moscow to negotiate a conclusion to the war.

Britain's leader will press leaders to increase the provision of long-range weapons following an effective strike on a manufacturing site in the Russian city, the Russian Federation, using Britain-delivered advanced weaponry.

"Furthermore, his brutal strikes on innocent children in a nursery this week demonstrate that crystal clear," he continued.

Two children were part of at least seven fatally wounded in numerous enemy assaults on the country, which targeted a daycare center in the major urban center Ukraine's second city.

Economic Talks

The Prime Minister will confer with supporting countries on methods to withdraw Moscow's energy exports off the global market.

The participants will also consider employing blocked Russian resources to offer the Ukrainian government with financial loans, although the initiative encountered a lack of political consensus and regulatory obstacles at the European meeting on Thursday.

The EU opted against consenting a plan to use up to €140bn in seized Russian resources to economically support Ukraine.

Nevertheless, the participants agreed to help support Kyiv's "financial needs" for the upcoming biennium.

America also revealed sanctions on Wednesday against Moscow's major energy corporations, Rosneft Oil and Lukoil Corporation, as element of actions to increase economic pressure on the Kremlin to enter hostility discussions.

Russia initiated its full-scale invasion of Ukrainian territory in February 2022. The invading forces currently holds about twenty percent of Ukraine's soil, including the Crimean peninsula Russia took control of in 2014.
